Our Story: From Hotel to 🌈Home🌈
1911:
The Rainbow Hotel is built in downtown Great Falls. Designed by architects George Shanley and John Kent, it cost $400,000 to construct and quickly became a showpiece of the city.
1910s-1930s:
The hotel thrives as a hub of travel and community gatherings. Its crystal ballroom hosts notable figures, including President Roosevelt and western artist Charles M. Russell.
Mid - 1900’s:
The Rainbow continues as a landmark hotel, welcoming visitors from Across Montana and beyond. Over time, parts of the building are used for offices and local businesses, while the hotel remains a centerpiece of Great Falls.
Late 1900’s:
With shifts in the hospitality industry, the Rainbow transitions away from its hotel roots and is reimagined for new uses.
2000’s:
The building is restored and transformed into Rainbow Senior Living, honoring its history while adapting to serve a new generation of Great Falls residents
Today:
Today, Rainbow Senior Living offers independent and assisted living apartments in a historic, welcoming setting where residents can create their own stories in a place that has been part of Great Falls for over a century.
